This year I was very honored to be selected to represent Team Canada in the World Photographic Cup. WPC Canada website is here

After winning classes in the Provincial and then National competitions with the PPOC (Professional Photographers of Canada) I was encouraged to submit images for consideration to become a member of Team Canada along with other incredible photographic talent from the country.

There were 335 images from photographers all across Canada entered, with the same goal to make it to the final 18. Those 18 are then selected and submitted as a member of Team Canada in the 2021 World Photographic Cup.

“This year, 38 countries entered the 8th edition of the World Photographic Cup, rising up once again the record of nations participating in this global and unique competition!  The actual winners, individual and teams, will be presented at the World Photographic Cup ceremony in Rome, scheduled on April 19th, 2021. All finalists,  and each one of their images… have the chance to help their country win the World Photographic Cup 2021!”

I am incredibly proud to have made it through all of the levels of refining and to be selected as one of the three best in my category and in the final 18 members of Team Canada from the 335 entries. Professional photography can often be a very individual pursuit but the bond between photographers is strong so it is really exciting to be a part of the Canadian Team.

Go Canada Go!

My Team Canada image is in the Commercial Photography category.

Here is an exert from the confirmation email I received. Some areas of the email were removed to shorten this blog post.

Dear Katherine,

Congratulations, your image…has been selected to represent TEAM CANADA in the 2021 World Photographic Cup competition.

The quality and creativity of your image earned its place in the final round of deliberation. Considering the number of images submitted this is quite an accomplishment.

Every image at this final level was reviewed, examined and ranked by all the curators from across the Team Canada specialist spectrum.
