Corporate YYC Thank you for the amazing photoshoot weekend!
This past weekend in Calgary we completed our first in studio Corporate portrait and headshot promo sessions of this year. If you are asking what are our promo corporate sessions, they are a high quality and efficient way to book a corporate shoot to capture your corporate headshot or portrait for your linkedin, website or internal company profile needs.
The session was created to satisfy the many requests of just one portrait. To meet that request a few times a year we set up a full day where individuals can book their time slot for their 25 minute corporate photoshoot. We offer makeup and hair services on location for those who request the services. For the February sessions we had Rana Hyatt from Viva hair working her makeup and hair magic.
Our profile imagery is so very important with social media being at the forefront and initial contact that potential opportunities can be created. Creating a professional image and putting forward your best look is what we created this past weekend.
Coaching and guiding to help individuals learn their angles and have the confidence to recreate poses, angles and smiles even after our session is always so rewarding. As a Corporate Photographer it is so much fun to see this transformation in individuals in a matter of a few clicks and review of their images.
I won’t go into full depth about the guidance I give but let’s dive into a highly requested ask by so many people.”Can you please remove my double chin!”. Yes we can and this is how it is done. For the best results, it is to start with capturing it camera before processing. That means positioning your body given your lighting setup and angle to the photographer. Now stand tall, bring your face forward and towards camera. Yes this feels awkward and you wouldn’t necessarily walk down Stephen Avenue like this. But this is the start, from here I guide an individual as to the angle of the chin and forehead. We get a single chin and a nice deep shadow under the chin. If editing is required there after for touch ups it can be done and overall the image will look real.
This is one of my model 101 skills I go over during a session. Of course each person is different and there is always customization and personal angles for each individual.
I am looking forward to my next upcoming sessions in Calgary and Edmonton for the month of March and April!
